Gf's battery light comes on and then fades away, but remains lit.
Ive read a few threads about it being the alternator or the battery.
Checked the voltage levels - as advised by one thread - 12v when off and 12v when ignition is on, 14v when car running.
So technically that is correct from what i have read and all is fine 
Any ideas?
Any help appreciated.

the car might just need a good run to charge the battery, mine done the same the other day, took it for a long spin and it was right then

Yeah, i thought that.
Seeing as though all she ever does is a 2 minute drive to and from work and a 1 minute drive to my house all with the radio on, might need a little treck

well, been on a drive (Derby > Nottingham - 20/25 miles) and the light is still on.
Car isnt struggling to start and it sat overnight and started first time.
When the engine is revved the light gets brighter  Dunno what thats all about.
Any other ideas?

could either be altanator or you could have interferance somewhere with puls signals ie, rev counter

Battery is on its way out, Halfords do free battery checks and they got it to 65%.
Maybe thats why it was only on slightly and not very bright.

Just to add, for future, if the charging is shown at 14v then the alt is fine.
After reading the first few posts i knew it was battery lol

if the battery light is showing that means the alternator isnt doing anything not the battery!
