why are the going for daft money? i put one on and its at £50 and with 50 watchers! everyone keeps asking about the sup and card. do there get chipped or something?

Yeah, they still belong to Virgin/NTL/Telewest.
Although i don't understand selling them, because from what i gather you can't chip them unlike the old analog boxes hence why people use DBox's/Dreambox's.

You can chip the v+ boxes, bloke around here is selling them, work fine.

You dont chip them so to speak.

The people who modify them need to have the original card that came with the box to read a code from it. The code cannot be gotten from anywhere else. And without the code the box cannot be used to get channels for free.

No lol.

Basically the code is contained on the card and the box.

To successfully rewrite a card to give you all channels you have to know this code.

There is no way to retrieve it from the box, so having the orignial card from the box is a must.

Without the code the box is as useful as a glorified freeview box.
