Hello,
I have a problem with my automatic, 'p' reg, vauxhall corsa. I have had a problem with the sports mode button, sometimes when i go to start the car then put it in drive from park, i get the sports mode 's' flash on the dash board. It causes the car to go in like a limp mode, often when i turn the engine off then on again it manages to clear it.
I have took my car to vauxhall and they have said they suspect it to be the selector switch and solonoid valve that need replacing, which would cost £800
However my car is not doing this all the time, and i have noticed that it only ever seems to do it when its cold. It never did it once during the summer! Could it be that the transmittion fluid is thick as its cold, then eventually thinens? If you could offer me any help/advice it would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

Does it drive quite crap in "D" but drives perfect in 1,2 & 3?
My old mans auto corsa had this, it's the sensor that controls the gear change, i'll dig up what exactly it was for you.
That's my guess anyway but seems exactly the same probs as ours.
PS: Take it to a transmissions specialist, will be more cost effective IMO

Falshing sports mode will mean AT/AT ECU fault.
As with all AT faults check fluid levels first.. Also give the fluid a sniff the old saying is "if it smells like burnt toast its fucked"

this can also be caused by the selector ontop of the box, take it off and open it up carefuly and clean the copper connectors
