There may be programmes to find it, but i would just wait till you can get hold of him then change it to something you will remember, or just remove it.

You log onto your router via a webpage and it should be in the setup..all the intstructions on how to do this should be with your router instruction manual. i think its like 192.168.0.1 or something in the address bar, and the UN/PW whatever it was setup by your dads mate (isnt that a really stupid idea for times like this??) standard with netgear stuff is usually 'admin' and 'password' Then if you go into the wifi setup bit, it will be in there. If it was set to be encrypted you use the encrypted version, not the p/w you entered.
When i set mine up i put the page in my favorites. i know you might not have a netgear router but just trying to help...its probably worth learning how to do it yourself though its pretty fool proof and handy when you need to your own wifi key instead of not been able to get hold of someone who did it for you.

http://192.168.1.1
Search Google to find your default username and password
Then on my router I click on Security followed by Wireless Connection and there it is under Security key
