Took me 5 attempts earlier to get the car started so i chucked a bit of oil in it and took it for a spin... the car seems to be stuttering a bit in 3rd/4th/5th when im holding a steady speed. Somethings def wrong i just cant think what it is... I did notice this a little bit the last time i drove it. I put a litre and a half of oil init and it took it no probs, does this mean i was a litre and a half (possibly more) down on oil?
What could the prob be?

paper clip test, to see if there are any codes stored first off,
then i'd check the oil level and see what it says on the dipstick lol
oh and the 14xe's have a blody annoying tendancy to split there vacume hoses so check them all for cracks or fatiegue (sp)

Come to think of it, when i was putting the oil in i did hear some sort of clicking noise kinda (hard to explain) - i did think it was either the oil going in and settling - could of been the water fizzling out (althou the car was only on for 2mins) or some vacume hose could be split... althou i suppose the engine would have to be on for me to hear that? ill investigate...

The stuttering is very faint - i notice it ONLY when in say 5th at 70mph and my little toe is pushing down the tinest amount just to keep a steady speed.
or 3rd at 30 doing the same thing.
