....when i start the car and go to pull off, im 1st normally, the car seems to have no momentum (sp) when the accelerator is pressed down,
the car then stutters along a little bit and then jumps into life after stuttering for a bit.

bit vague i know, i dont really know how to explain it, but anyone who can make anything of the above and point me in any direction what so ever would be appreciated
thanks Marc

im no engine/car expert but it does feel as though the engine is being starved of something since there is a short period before any "action" (for want of a better word) begins

My car done this (x12sz) I changed everything plugs, leads, dis pack, injector . . . . . the list goes on.

turns out it woz the spark plugs.

Apparently the engines are very sensitive, the ngk plugs I put in seemed to cure it.

Although yours is the 16v might be a good starting point to try and diagnose the fault.

I'd say air flow meter mate, could be wrong but it happens alot with these engines.

You might as well get some new plugs first.

My air flow meter packed up but the ecu light never came on. It coughed and spluttered off the lights like a kangaroo!

I just got my car running right again after this problem - turned out it was my spark plug leads.

A mate of mine who used to work for vaux just sprayed some water on them (with a normal squirty bottle) where the lead goes into the engine and there was a spark coming from one of them.

Could be worth a try. If there are sparks jumping across the top of the plug then the leads need changing

Won't make a differance.

Change your plugs, leads and air flow meter. Maybe do them one at a time so you can eliminate each one as the problem.

If you are due an oil change then do so so. But its not connected.
