Apparently they won't connect to our router in the house, is this a common problem?
Any suggestions to an iPhone friendly alternative?

Linksys. I think it may be a WRT54G.

Update the firmware and try with security off/WEP/WPA.
Or wait and I'll have a look.

I have this router. It's shit. Half the time it drops wireless completely. Most time I use Ethernet. Don't know about your problem though. Have u tried changing the channel in the router?

I had that linksys router, It was an absolute pile of shite.
Changed it a few months back for a belkin which has been excellent.
I connected my iphone 4 yesterday to it in a few seconds.

We've had it for years with no problems but if a replacement is better then fair enough.
So....decent router suggestions?

My linksys used to drop out every month or so, Had to keep unplugging etc. Putting new things onto the network was a ballache sometimes.
This Belkin router has been spot on for us in the 6 months we've had it.
I've had a PC, laptop, notebook, xbox360 and iphone4 through it at the same time with no problems.

I'm still thinking it'll be a setting though if everything else works.

I got tired of having to piss about with settings, Lost count of how many times I had to call the helpline in India to get instructions.
The last time I called was why I chucked it in the bin, I was basically told I have to pay £20 to get help from them. Told them to stick it and bought the Belkin.

So you can't make phonecalls, go on flash sites, go on the internet at all via wireless, it costs a fortune and you have to queue for 10 hours to get one.
I mus be missing something.
