I want to remove the black strips down the side of my car but theres some horrible sticky black glue underneath, Does anyone know how to remove this without scratching the paintwork????

Pick as much of it off as possible then use some white spirit or paint thiner(sounds dodgy i know but worked for me and didnt damage the paint!) and scrub it off!!!!!
If there is a dull line let apparently you can go to your bodyshop and they can use a sanding block on a dril to get it off but thats just going by the max haynes manual!!!!!

i've done one side so far, took me a whole day! i used paint brush cleaner and a hair dryer, but it takes a very long time!!!

I was just gonna say, use a hair dryer to heat it up, and it should come off.

There was 2 of us at it on mine and it still took ages. The best method i found was to soak the stick strip in paint brush cleaner fluid, then dry with hair dryer, making sure it's well heated, then quicky remove with your nails
