have a f20 gearbox
it has manual speedo gear
i have tried 2 on this box
and it keeps leaking gear oil out around the speedo gear hole
really quickly too
any ideas?

has the speedo gear got a little o-ring at the top? also is it in far enough i know i had this problem and it was because the speedo gear wasn't fully in because the plastic flex's

it does have the o ring,
fully bolted down. not 100% if its 100% seated but im pretty sure it was on both sender i tried. one is a tighter fit too.

I found the best way to make sure is a deep socket whats big enough to go over the threaded part and gently knock it down until the tone of it changes when it has met up against the box, if not that is there any dinks or owt around the sender hole?
Also is the breather clean, it mite be forcing it out of the easiest route?

right, ill tap it down, a bead of sealent round it, and swap the breather out for a known good one.
sender hole looks good. its random, ive never had a box do this.

How much oil have you got in it?
You only have to fill it till it comes to the drain bolt thing by the bolt on diff seal.

If you take that bolt out and let it drain, till it stops that is the correct amount.
Have you had the diff plate off on it? It may of had .5l before you filled it.

ive found the leak
i will need a new gearbox
if your local to the wirral ill take it
also if you have a gearbox with a good casing. but its gears are broken i may be interested.
yes if you have gatherd.
the casing on my gearbox is damaged. 
ive sealed it for now. but i would liek to replace the casing or complete gearbox
