Had an urge the last few months to grow something in the garden, there's an area behind the garage which looks the perfect size to start with.

Thing is....

I have NO IDEA WTF TO DO

What grows during these months or have I missed the boat? How do I need to have it? Ideally want it to be a small project, just something for me to do and keep an eye on as a bit of fun.
Will build a mini greenhouse if needed, was thinking about putting a wooden frame down, and have a door on it, with a post near the hedge with a latch (Like a bar). Same where the grow bags are on the right.

Quick sketch I did whilst on hold on the phone

Actual Area...

I know theres a few quite into it on here. Will be doing this next Sunday as i'm not golfing, if nothing will grow this time of the year, i'll just clear all the shit and whack down some golden stones and have my dreams crushed.

Thanks for any helpful responses in advance.

You never see anyone growing peppers, apart from the B&Q outside garden. They taste good.

Its always rubharb, carrots, cabbage and potatos.
