Can some one explain why my hard drive is like this? And how do I make use of both, i know this sound's stupid but, on my previous toshiba it was the same thought nothing of it, then after some time it started running dead slow, one hard drive was in the red for memory nearly full, the other was empty. I had to reboot it as had a virus in the reboot menu it asked if i wanted to segment the hard drive i never which in turn gave me the full memory in one place, were as before and now on the new one it's in two?
Any advantages / disadvantages how to i stop it from ramming one full and the other staying empty?

If you wanna restore your computer to fresh, you can select the C drive to be reformatted meaning you don't have to back up anything on the D drive.

I can see the problem straight away.. You have McAfuck installed..

Thing is does having it like that help in any way? And how do i use the other drive to store stuff on? I no may sound stupid but what's the point it being split down the middle?

Doesn't really make a difference, just makes it easier if you ever need to reformat in the future. And to use it, you put your data on it.

Quite a few new laptops have their hard drives partitioned this way.
I'm guessing it's in case you get some dodgy malware, you can get the system restore to wipe the C: drive and start again, whilst keeping your porn and music on the D: drive intact.

So do i just literally save my files to that drive every time i want to save some think there just select it on the option menu?

Norton's worse. I had it years back, fully up to date, always letting virus' and mal/spyware in.

This. If you need to format you don't need to fanny about transferring them to an external hard drive.

Agree with Avast but also Avira.
Norton seems to cause more problems with using a lot of resources and then slowing the computer down quite a bit.
Last time I had Norton, I needed to format to remove it.
