The haynes manual said its something to adjust the idle emissions? Monoxide or something.... i tried winding it around either way and didnt appear to make any diff in running

Some weren't adjustable perhaps only ones that disnt have a cat from factory?

idle adjustment, wont do alot as the ecu compensates for anything you change anyway
