My cambelt has just came off of my Corsa , suddenly started squeaking and no power. Put my foot on the clutch straight away but hope it hasn't done any damage, I was slowing down at the time!
Are they a big job to change? should I take it to a garage to get it done? If so how much?
Just weighing up options! Any advice is welcomed!

I know probably going to have to be a new engine, cause its more than likely bent some valves!

i would say the best thing is to put a new belt on it and turn it over by hand to see if there is any obstructions if not start it up and see if it runs correct if it does it saves u abit of coin

belts are easy to do on them engines
as said above, new belt, turn it over by hand, see what happens, if it seems like its catching, go get a new engine, if it doesnt, fire it up and hope it works

Could go to a local garage with a borescope to save you buying any bits rather pay them an hours labour than fit a belt and find out its still fucked.
