Hi ive got a corsa b 1.4 16v P reg 97 took it first to an independent mot place (only do mot no repairs) it passed on everything except emissions fitted a new cat and lambda sensor still failed so took it back to garage that fitted the cat they says its a pass with the co being 0.15 compared to 0.56 at original place i then took it another garage put it on there machine failed first time did it again just about passed with 0.28 anyway got it mot'd at the garage that fitted the cat who now say its failed on the rear panel at the bottom (where the slam panel is and rear bumper covers) is rusted away at the bottom and a wheel bearing is dry (doesn't make any groaning noise whilst driving) and a rusted brake pipe cover or something seems strange how they can find so much wrong with it? do mot places vary this much or are they just after the work? hate mot time!!!

I've never heard of an MOT where your wheel bearings are checked for the level of grease, sounds like you're being taken for a ride. Take it to a reputable place and put it for a test, even if it gets you a fail sheet, you'll then have something to work to. If they then find something else that clearly did not occur in the time between the first test and the re-test I would say you have grounds to report them to the DVLA.

It could well be that your car has got them problems and the fact the first garage didn't fail it is cause there don't do repairs so won't get any work out of it I've been told this by lots of people as said take it to yet another garage and see if it fails

Have you actually checked what the last garage has failed it on and confirmed it too be correct?
The bearing wont have been checked for a level of grease, he would have spun the wheel and saw that it was sounding rough/dry.
If the rear panel is corroded away, it will be visible from underneath.
Same for brake pipe, it will be visible.
have a look and complain if they're pulling your leg.
