I painted my silver brembos which had seen better days red today, i used the Very High Temp paint from halfords. tin looked like it would be shiny red but they turned out like a matt colour

wonder if theres anything i can do? thought about using laquer on top to give them a shine but they don't seem to do a VHT laquer to match?

I've never used VHT paint on calipers, always used normal car paint and lacquer and I've yet to see it burn off. Normal lacquer will be fine.

now mate i used the same paint use VHT high temperature clear coat (lacquer) give it a couple of coats and it will turn out a similar colour to flame red nice and shiny. If you use normal lacquer it defeats the object of using the high temperature paint in the first place as the lacquer will peel/crack under heat

I've always used normal car paint and lacquer via a spray gun.. The finish is good and lasts forever, also easy to clean.
Here's mine after I painted them

Well I lacquered them, whacked them on then when bleeding the brakes got brake fluid on them so half the paint came off
So gone back over them with red hammerite and they look boss. Not sure about durability though

Hammerite in my opinion is your best option unless willing to get them done from a specialist.

I tried painting my HI-SPECS with the Halfords paint and they turned out the same as yours...matt and almost pink in colour.

Try searching for companies that refurb calipers as i sent mine back to hi=spec to get done. Only cost me £50 for paint and £150 for full refurb.
