hi have put a c20xe redtop in my corsa we have spark and fuel and it wont fire up. If u take the plugs out they are dripping in petrol. I have cleaned the fuel off and tried again and the same keeps happening. Any ideas what is going on, thanks.

Yes mate it does have a lambda. How many earths should there be?

Can't remember mate, sorry.
Is the engine management light (EML) wired in?
And have you got any fault codes through it?

Yes mate its wired in. No havn't checked that yet. It started up for a few seconds earlier and then cut out again and wouldnt start again

Around 4? Ok thanks mate. Where abouts? Got one from battery to bulkhead, 1 or maybe 2 from by fuel rail to bulkhead. Should there be an earth on the box? And would that cause it not to start though?

One to the bulkhehed from battery
Three on the fuel rail
One from the alternator to a earth
One from chassis to either box or engine

Check nothing came loose when it ran, plugs, earths, bits of loom etc.
How did it cut out? Are all plugs the same? Was it a known runner when you got it?

Yes seen it running in the car before it was removed. Its not seen the road yet, fired up for a few seconds last night then cut out and wouldn't start again. Ill check all them earths again later on then and make sure I have them all on. Thanks

Make sure leads are correct order and fuel pump relay clicks? Ecu power up?

I have earth from alternator to engine, earth from negative battery to bulk head and earth from chassis leg to engine head

off the top of my head isnt there one going from starter to back of block too?

Try a new coolant temperature sensor after my conversion car fired up ran for about 10 seconds cut out then wouldn't start again as sensor was knackered and feeding the engine too much fuel

ine did this, turned out to be a loose wire in the coil pack plug, check things like that
