Ok so the magento website is as useless as a chocolate teapot for help and there forum speed is piss poor!
I seem to have a problem with images not displaying at the frontend and backend of the website..
Now I understand that I need to rename .htaccess file inside the /media directory to .htaccess-old
Easy it may sound/look, I don't for some reason have a .htaccess file I only have the below 
catalog
css
css_secure
customer
dhl
downloadable
helloslide
js
tmp
wysiwyg
xmlconnect
Has been the worst install to date, never had any of these problems on other installs

Is there a directory password on the page for public
To logon to? If so get rid

No, No passwords are set apart from the normal Cpanel login to access everything 
Bloody confusing to say the least as the other magento stores I've worked with have been far better than this one
