I'm a bit useless when it comes to buying computers/laptops, im hoping to start an open uni degree soon so i want something thats going to last me at least 4-5 years. It will probably mainly be used for browsing the net, doing degree work and playing football manager.

Max budget is £400, ive been looking in the pc world sale and have found these two,

hp-pavilion-g6-2213sa

and this

hp-pavilion-g6-2210sa

The only difference i can see is that the top one has a AMD A8 processor, and the bottom an intel i5. The top one was also on sale at a slightly higher price before they went 'on sale'.

Could i get anything better for my money? I was originally looking at Dell's, but they seem just a little out of my budget.

I know the colour is a bit ghey but it's either that or purple, all of the black ones seem to have sold out.

Thanks.

I would consider something like this too just for the brand and build quality;http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-350V5C-15-6-inch-Laptop-Silver/dp/B009SJCW50/ref=sr_1_17?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1357799983&sr=1-17

The down side is that you get worse specs but unless you're doing as anything processor intensive (you said not) then you probably won't feel and massive difference if last all anyway.

I wouldn't have another HP laptop after my last one died after 13 months. It was £480 at the time (2-3 years ago when it fixed), so as decent spec.
