Swmbo has a 1.2 51 regards corsa. Over the last couple of months the emissions light has randomly come on and on a couple of occasions the engine has become clunky and sluggish. It's also cut out on her once.
Once she turns it off and back on again, everything is okay. I've ran an obd2 scanner and nothing has popped up.
Personally I think it may be a lambda sensor on the way. It's definitely something electrical imo. If it was mechanical surely it'd happen all the time.
We've also added a bottle of Cataclean to the fuel and just been for a run.
Is this a common issue for the car/engine?

Just asked swmbo to point out the light on Google and it's the EML IMO.
The one that looks like an engine.
Her mum's partner has always called it emissions light, however, on my cupra that is known as the EML
I'll be honest, until this issue, I had never even heard of an emissions light

sounds like the egr valve to me mate. take it off and give it a clean or buy a blanking plate few quid off ebay. it will be your engine management light aswell mate
