it used to only do it when it was raining heavily but now its doing it all the time, when i do get it to stop it sometimes it wont do it for a few minutes, sometimes a few seconds.
been told it could be the clutch bearing and ive also been told it could be one of the belts, i dont even know, if it matters its a 1.2 8v

Aux belt, probably needs the tension taking up in the alternator bracket.

without hearing it mate i cant say for definite but sounds like the clutch bearing just replaced mine the other week for the same reason. Its easier to get a full clutch kit though while everything is off.

As Ian said, tighten the aux belt with the adjustment on the alternator. Two 13mm spanners and a levering bar
