I was wondering what catalytic converters people use on turbo cars that have been modified?
My current Corsa has a de-cat exhaust which I'm going to need to change before Mot time...so I was wondering whether a standard Astra cat would be okay or will I need a high-flow cat in order to keep the Bhp figures up..?
Also the bore is 3" which is obviously larger than standard..
So was wondering what other people run on theirs?
Thanks

Any cat that is a 200 cell(sports cat/hi flow) with the pipe diameter to match your system will be best, apart from not runinng a cat.
400 cell cat is your standard type, there`s always a few astra gsi cats about from people that have upgraded to sports systems as the first thing they do is to remove one of the two cats.

Thanks for the replies. Do the 200 cell cats reduce power a lot or would it be minimal? The car is running 290 Bhp at the moment

Diesels though weren't they? Bit different because its only a smoke test rather than emissions

I do have a friendly Mot man but tbh I'd rather have the car completely legal so I don't have to worry about it. Plus if the guy I know stops working there or something then I'm a bit screwed!
I've found one online: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/universal-exhaust-parts/redback-fia-approved-motorsport-catalytic-converter
Would this suit my requirements? (mot-worthy whilst retaining power)

My understanding is it goes by what ever oldest. I have a 1998 corsa with a 1990 c20let engine. The engine is pre-cat and therefore not required. Pass all MOT's with no CAT with no issues.

sly_sri i don`t expect that that cat would get the emissions low enough for mot requirment.
