Going for a 55 inch to and this Samsung looks good. The max width I can go is 123 and the Samsung is the only one that fits

Question is, is it any good. Not interested in the curve ones and 4k ones seem
Better spec but over 600 more

My concern is getting a tv that isn't latest tech but I see no real need for 4k as no one broadcasts in it although I hear Netflix are starting to

So do I hold out for 4k or wait until Xmas to see what the prices are

I know you say 123cm max, but can you squeeze a little more?

The only reason I ask is that we have the Sony KDL55W905, which was last years top model in 55". It's a fantastic TV but is 124.1cm wide.

I'm sure someone will come along shortly who knows a bit about the Samsung you are looking at.

The 7000 series Samsung's are always great TVs! And I think all of the bad-cap horror stories will mean new models will be using much higher quality components (I hope).

If the width restriction is because the TV is going to be recessed: make sure there is nothing you need to access on the side of the TV

Annoyingly the USB socket is on the side of our TV and because there is so little space either side I've had to use a USB extension instead of being able to plug USB sticks straight in.

Im not sure on dimensions, but i was dead set on the Samsung 55 7000 range but saw a big reduction (-£700) on the Sony Bravia KD55X8505 so ordered that today.
