Just got my ICE sorted: Alpine V12 running 2x12" Infinity subs, Sony 6x9's, JBL 6"s, etc. Problem is if I crank it right up so it makes your hair move 
all the lights flicker inside and out. So I guess I need to uprate my battery? Which do I go for, how much and where from?

Uprate ur alternator first 
If you cant afford that, get an Exide Corsa turbo diesel battery for around £30 - £40, or go to halfords and get one of their calcium batterys for the corsa TD

i had same problem, ended up with 1.7 diesel battery from vauxhall, cost me £58.
that was a couple of years ago now.

how much would it cost to uprate the alternator? my battery is playing up lately, if i play the cd player for more than 15 mins the car will hardley start, ive got to leave it for a while with everything switched off and eventually it builds up enough power to start the engine

I got that same problem welshdude, the other day I stopped in mcd's car park had the radio on for 10mins, laughed at the guy next to us cos his car had broken down, then wen I tried to start mine it was completely dead. No life at all! Luckily dad was only 5 mins away so he came over and jumped his car to mine and I got it goin no prob. But I'm goin for the diesel batt 36 quid from my motor spares place. Over twice the capacitance of the one I have now.
