i was at a audio shop near my house the other day and the guy suggested either changing to a heavy duty battery or a cap (1farad for every 1000watts) which costs about £60 (without display i believe) on www.caraudiocentre.com special offers at the mo.. although the shop was offering me about £80 for me to take away the cap then and there...wot do u guys think?...worth goin for a cap?

I wouldnt bother with a huge one if yu arent running mega ice, its just more weight for the car to carry plus the alternator wont charge it properly. Call a few motor factors in the yellow pages, something like a Delphi battery or a Vauxhall GO battery will be fine.

You have to find out why your battery is doing that.

Is it a newish battery (3-5 years)

Have you checked that your alternator is supplying current.

How long did you leave the car running for before you turned the car off?

Not sure how long the battery has been in there for, cos only bought the car last yr. might sound dump, but where is the alternator and how do you check it? garage said it would be £50 for a new alternator.
the battery i had in my car is
DELTA - 063 CCA = 380 and 44AH.

yea like i said in your other thread, its better to buy a bigger charge battery, and the diesel ones usually hold the charge better anyways.

I had the same problem, and a bigger batt sorted it, the old batt just lost it's charge and couldn't keep it. My alt was ok and was supplying enough current, so it had to be the batt.
