How do i get rid of those swirls that you get on the bonnet and roof?
Is it worth getting a buffing thing for my drill?

yes, do not attempt to buff manually, i have learnt this

What you need is an abrasive polish. I use G3 on stuff i spray, before other polises, but that might be a bit harsh on your paint so i'd reccomend G10. Autotglym paint renovator is also quite godd at getting rid of these
