hi guys, was just wondering again if i would be able to fit some 10" speakers into my doors , with no bodging, and will the connections be compatible? the comps are alpine, also they are quite brightly coloured, will i be able to see them thru the louvres on the original speaker cover?

10" components? Aren't 10" speakers usually classified as subs? Either way, you will not be able to get them in with no bodging, the biggest you can get is 6.5" using the autoleads adaptor.

if its a corsa b then -
quote:
Everyone keeps saying "get some phat 17cm (6.5") comps and wack them in", but they keep forgetting that majority of 17cm comps won't fit due to either the magnet not going through the holes in teh door, or the depth is too big (max depth is around 64mm) and therefore the magnet rests in the window tracks Obviously, if youe building your own door pods then get what ever you want
But i would recommend some infinity 5000cs (13cm) comps. They just fit (with a few mm all round to spare) and they sound great Although, if you do get these then i would connect the tweeter to the -3dB on the crossover and also leave out the screws (two of them) at the end of the door pocket (speaker end) as this will stop the door pocket grill resting/pressing on the woofers rubber sill

u dont want 10cm for the doors they r too small.
U need 13.16-17 cm ones as i mentioned above then they will fit straight in with the adaptor rings as long as they arent too deep and the magnets aint too big.
