supposed to be as close as possible to each other I believe?
however mount em in your doors towards where you have your original speakers . should be fine there.

aye...people say mount them in the door pocket, due to delay in sound (causes by you leg being in the way of the drivers side, so when the sound reaches you from the drivers side tweeter, the passenger side has done the same...aka centre stereo field).
However, as soon as someone gets in your passenger seat, it goes tits up....so just wack them in the door handles (original tweeter positions) then if adjust them slightly on the HU to the left if you have problems

my JL guide says u not meant to have them more than a speaker distance away otherwise u get lag which isnt noticable to the un trained ear but hey get the best u can out of em mate!
