This has gone on my XE, but when i went to the garage they said there are 2 different ones for that engine, and no year/chassis number codes associated with either. Does anyone know which one i need? The engine is from a 1991 astra GTE. I bought the one they have in stock, going to help my mate fit it on the weekend but it would save time now if i knew which one i should have got! I think one of the differences is the length of the lead.

what is the knock sensor and where is it? what happens when its gone? i have 2.0 and have never heard of it

a sensor in the engine which picks up resonance associated with pinking or knocking in the block and tells the ecu to adjust timing accordingly..... unquote
