right my mrs owns a w-reg 1.6 16v sport, earlier on we was driving down a duel carriageway, came off a roundabout ans entered a slip road to the garage to get some fuel, just as we entered the slip road the engine management light came on and the car started to idle slightly eratically as low as 150-200rpm, it then cut out, so i started it and was still doing same thing, and then cut out and then i started it again, if i revved it to 1000/1500 rpm sounded fine.
so i started it again after mrs had put fuel in and i reversed it back out of the pump area so we was clear from any1 and then it just idled fine!!!!!
we then drove 10 miles back home and it did'nt do anything apart from act normally, any1 know what likely cause is or could be??? could catch problem b4 gets worse lol
regards carl, ps no we had fuel mrs never lets it go below 1/4 a tank

irattic idle revving is very common with corsas, load of posts on here about it... but i still dont know the cause or cure!
i had this problem a while ago but it suddenly just stopped!
but of top my head could be anything really check the following, Idle Control valve, throttle body, air mass sensor, blocked induction system etc also depends if car has any engine mods

What was the weather like? If it had been raining you might have taken water in somewhere and just needed a min or two to dry out.
Failing that I'd say Idle control valve but if it's ok for now...

if the engine management light came on take it to vauxhall and they will tell you

yeah and charge you £25 to plug the fucking thing into a tek 2 machine
