Hi to all!
I wont to regrind my block (80 or 81.5), but i first i need to say where i can buy pistons at good price/quality...
Here in italy they ask me 160€ + iva per piston!

I've find original pistons (diam 80mm) for 250 incl postage, it's good?
Any alternatives?

Thanks!

make sure you shot peen the deseamed rods otherwise you will weaken them, the shot peeining will harden the surface.

I know where you can get some very decent high compression forged pistons for £360 inc vat, rings, pins.

Speedex pistons.

Only???
Possible?
I have not found nothing on the net about Speedex. The price seem very good... They can be used on standard rods? The weight? The dynamic cr will not increase too much for use with standard fuel? I am thinking to use the piper cam code C16VBP285H (264°)...
There is not an online site where i can place an order?

Sorry for the numerous question... This seem a good affair

They are a place localish to me, ex Proton rally team and RS200 developement bloke. He mapped my nova and makes a load of bits for SBD etc, turns out a lot of steel cranked race engines....

I can give you his phone number, he's only a small place. U2U me if you want it. I'll probably be able to dig out his email address as well.

I'm pretty sure they can be used on std rods, CR will raise some, not sure how much though, no idea on weight.

400£ = 574.70€...
Add 20/30€ for shipping...
Are always 200€ less!

So, what you advised to me?
Buy forged pistons for 400£ (+ shipping), or original for 315 (incl shipping)? (both on 1mm overbore )
I wont to run on standard rods and not over 8k red-line...

well if you aint going over 8K keep standard ones, cos if you decide to go over the 8K you will be taking them out again to fit new rods and i carnt see you doing that, if you think you might fit new rods in the future go for the forged pistons if you 100% sure you wont then deseam the standard ones and fit standard pistons

No, i not think to go over 8k rpm... After are too high for the streets that are here... And after there are involved too many other modifications...
If the standard rods (deseemed and shoot peened) can cope surely that rev(8k)... I'm already satified!

So, the really last thing... The standard rings doesn't suffer to run @ 8000rpm?

Thanks for the patience

Standard rings should be fine 8K is the limit where ost things have to be uprated, if you half the oil change service intervals and use a good oil and do a filter change the engine should last a good while, dont forget ya ARP rod bolt though and some SBD metal idler pulleys
