my mate keeps nagging at me to find out what he needs to put a 2.0 8v into a nova...
obviously an engine
driveshafts
hubs

will he need new mounts etc cuz we havent got a clue

Tell him to fit a 2.0 16v and not the 8v. Far better engine.

He'll need:

Engine, box and loom
M-Tech or similar fitting kit consisting of shafts, mounts, hubs and spacers
Better brakes - either veccy V6 or GTE 2lt ones will be fine.

big mash hammer to knock in chasis leg where altinator sits, or a welder to box section it. plasters for your knuckles. a good saturday free to do it in

I have Nova C20 engine mounts kicking around somewhere.

for a 16v you need to:

smack for fook out the chassis rail directly under the suspension turret

bend the clutch cable exit down and to the right

cut 10mm off the left hand hater matrix pipe

seam weld all the engine bay

how hard is it to put a nova gsi engine into a nova??

Wouldn't bother with the 8v. Personally, I'd go for a 1.6 16v from a Corsa.
Best go for one with a metal inlet manifold - X16XE I think they're called.

dont want spend the money on 1 of them engines i can get a 2.0 8v or a 1.6 8v for £100 and my dads a mechanic so....... just want know what the wiring is like and how difficult the conversion is??
