I am not very clued up but I need help to sort out a problem, I have just recieved my car back on friday night from having the cylinder head gasket fixed, then on saturday I encountered a problem. I was travelling at approxamately 40mph when the car started to judder then it stopped I was on teh motorway so increased my sped when all of a sudden it starts to rev at 8500 with no cut off, I stopped and phoned a mate for help he tells me to push the thing near the power cap back that the throttle cable runs parralel to, I do this and everything is ok until I put my foot close to the floor what the hell is wrong I cant see any interference with the throttle cable I just dont know what it is any ideas please, thanks Paul...

you may need to lubricate the return spring.

check the throttle cables routed properly.

When i fitted my c16xe i hadnt routed mine very well and it chaffed on the alternator causing exactly the same problem!

thign is it sort of accelerates to a certain point then after about 2k revs it just goes and the thing comes all the way to the front and you have to push it back so the revs return to normal
