here is it from the other way up, yeah its electrical so the owner of the car said, he got it from the garage he bought the car from as the management light was coming on and it came up with this part as the problem.

looks a bit like a vw map sensor (i know this deosnt help)
i have no idea what a vaux one looks like though

is there a part number on it, if do get someone with EPC to put it in and thye will be able to tell you what it is

i'd say map sensor, would check epc, but im on the wrong laptop.

I think its a stepper motor (sp) also known as idle speed control motor.
