i currently have Windows ME
i have a 20gb drive partitioned into:
c: = 4gb
d: = 16gb
i want to re-install windows ME as mine is currently playing up.......
i need to format the c: but without losing any information which is stored on the d:
i'll be using F-disk to format.....i think thats the one but i cant remember the commands to format
like a: thn something like format>space>c:>space>U
is that the right command?
can then install windows ME again......
the only reason i am not installing XP is because the partition what i have at the moment is FAT32 i think.....and XP use some other sort of file allocation table and i dnt want to lose all information on my d:

It would just be easier to backup everything on the D: onto either a load of CD's or get another hard-drive and install windows on that instead. Partitions suck in my opinion. I have 2 hard-drives, 160gb and 60gb, and whenever something goes wrong, i put it on my backup hard-disk, and format the 60gb one (which has windows, and all the core files)

go one better and do two SATA drives plugged into a raid controller card, raid 1 for integrity or raid 0 for performance
