Can any of you help with this?
My fiance's Corsa 1994 SRI has a few issues...
Firstly, it barely warms up anymore...water is topped up, engine doesnt overheat. I've been told to check the thermostat so i think thats covered.
Secondly, this is the biggy...
When i took the centre console out to spray it red, i had a mishap when putting it back in, some how whilst pokin around with my screwdriver i managed to short one of the live wires behind the surround...there was a flash an a bang, i think it blew a fuse aswell....which i replaced an thought nowt more of...But then the next evening, i was drivin it...i stopped the engine took the keys out, and realised the motor was still running, i noticed the lights were still on so i flicked them to off and the engine cut out!!! How random is that!
This was last year sometime and its today that ive finally decided to look into it, if you turn the lights on (no keys in ignition) the dash lights come on just like they would if you turned the key...I'm guessin i have a short somewhere....but where???
I have got the centre console out at the mo, i cant see anything out of the ordinary there, so my gues is its something behind the fuse box...any ideas what to look for?
Sorry for the essay but i really want to sort this, this weekend.
Cheers

If the blowers rarely get hot, then you've probably got an airlock somewhere, get it flushed and sorted by a local garage, they wont charge much.
As far as the other problem goes, it sounds like wires have melted into each other. Look for burnt wires
Also check your hazard switch is in correctly.

Sounds like you need to strip the dash down again and have a look in there see what is damaged. If it banged there should be evidence.

I thought about the hazard switch, i removed it altogether to see if it was that but no joy...
I'm gonna get the multimeter out today i think, and have another go...
