as i dont have a clue about them or ever come across them/used them before!
i think its about time i got one because ive broken loads of things by overtighteing bolts and nuts etc
what should i look out for? Size? Heavy-Duty? Brand? whats average price i should pay?

i have a draper one, half inch drive, 30-210nm. think it was about £30. You can pay like £300 tho, but i doubt you would ever need 400nm of torque on a corsa

upto £300
£30 sounds good, i have a 100 peice socket set already... so a DRAPER- half inch drive 30-210nm will be sufficient for a corsa yeah??
the main reason i need one is so i dont overtighten the Oil draining bolt again on the sump!!

Its hard to say if it was just rotten or overtightened though.

pay as much as you can afford. in my expirience cheap tourqe wrenches arent very accurate. and will lose their setting over time.

this is total bollocks...
i own a snap-on 200 quid torque wrench and also one which was 15 quid on a market (unbranded)
the snap on one was failed and the cheapy passed a calibration test at work last week..
price is not gonna determine a more accurate wrench, but the main difference is the quality that u get from the likes of snap on.

I bought mine off of eBay. It's well good and only cost me about £25... Goes over 200nm which is more than I need
