your better off getting a yellow top becase from the sounds of that lot, it will be drawing more power than the battery would like to give out. Have you upgraded any earth cables
EDIT: If you want have a yellow top as a starter and split charge a red top.

jake you are confused there.
The red top is the starter battery
The yellow top is the battery designed for ICE purposes.
So he would have a red top as the started and split charge a yellow top.
Ryan, its not about ones being more powerful than others, its their capacities.

Im just quoting here. The red-top has a slightly higher CCA than the yellow top but there is not much difference

that makes but interesting read, but i was kinda hoping for a conclusion
so i cant get away with a split charged 2nd 'normal' battery, i'd have to get a yellow top

not just have yellow up front then...?
people do realise that the directed 2400 amp, isnt 2400 watts, its a model number.
it only producing about 120watts
holla!

i was thinking more along the lines of 1100Wrms amp. As goblin said normal battery up front and yellow top split charged. Richie - second opinion?

oh rite
its not that powerfull is it?
powering two RE SX10's?
only gettin them coz they have a 1000wrms rating peak 2000w so im going by the logic that they wont melt.
if they dont, they will be my first subs that havent gone pop

In total you are going to be running around 1200wRMS.
Who on earth gave you that kind of logic? Under powering a sub at volume will cause distortion and heat and will melt the coil. In my experience you've got more chance killing a sub by underpowering than overpowering!
In your case you will be running each sub at half its recommended power input.
Im sure i never gave you the advice to get that amp with those subs
Anyway, at 1200wRMS you will need a corsa turbo diesel battery in the front, and a yellow top in the boot for a split charge system, or just a yellow top up front should do you fine.

yes mate, thats running at 2ohms
Richie,
no mate, you never gave me that advice to match those amps and subs. it was me looking at RE stuff as i heard they were the best. this is a copy of RE's email sent to me:
From: "Blade ICE - Sales" <sales@bladeice.com>
To: "Martin Whayman" <martin_whayman@hotmail.com>
Subject: Re: Custom Subwoofers

If there rated @ 1000wrms doesn't mean they need 1000wrms to perform. They will be fine with less than half that power.
No D2 10" or 12" subs in stock of that power rating.
We have Dual 2ohm SX10" subs.
Am
then i said, na ya wrong, they have to be matched i swear. Then i got a reply:
No that is totally incorrect. If your woofer is rated @ 1000wrms it does NOT mean you must give the driver that amount to perform. It is a guide to how much thermal power the woofers can handle, not mechanical.
500wrms per woofer would give some exceptional results for both SPL and SQ. Loaded in the right enclosure i see no areas where the subs would be at disadvantaged.
You can destroy a speaker with 1/4 of its rated power by incorrectly setting up the amp. If your amp does 1100wrms it doesn't mean it does it at MAX Gain, it means it does it for a short burst over 2-3seconds @ certain signal voltage which is line matched from with the gain. Gain is not a volume control... just some theory for you.
I think SX10s would be perfect..
Am
Thats why ive been set on these 2 sx10's
RE Audio XXX12 v3, clicky
This is RE sub runs 1600rms 2ohm DVC. Is this not good too, as its too powerfull
Can you recomend any one better than RE then mate.

Power handling(RMS) - 1000 Watts

ideally yes, or as richie said it will be ok with just the yellowtop up front. Upgrade the 3 main earth cables if possible aswell

think i'll just go for split charged yellow top then.
Just cause it means i can give the amp a better + and - with shorter leads
might go for this, just found it on my favourites
http://www.rthursby.co.uk/acatalog/deep_cycle.html
looks like im going back to one sub now though
