After a new head unit cause mine seems to be duff, fancy staying with Alpine cause I like their stuff.

The CDA-9855R looks good, will get it with a Ipod adapter too if I was to get it, does anyone have any good or bad comments on this unit?

reviews appreciated.

I had it, lasted about 2 and a half weeks, then it were fucked. CD mechanism had gone tits up.

I then bought a clarion unit and the difference in sound quality is amazing. Alpine started to use cheap components, removed the V drive and bass enchancement and the loss in quality really shows.

avoid this headunit!!!!

fitted it to my bro's car a few months ago and the mechanism is faulty... it doesnt open at all somtimes!

the sound quality is still good in my opinion, but it hasnt got the V drive and bass+ modes, so it has NO bass settings as such to adjust which is really silly!!! u have to mess around with the graphic equaliser to get the bass right , but even then its not great!

only real good thing is the looks and the adjustable button colours
