right, when i look at my car from the rear, even when parked on a level surface, it looks to lean to the left quite abit...... its lowered 60mm all round on gmax suspension, though i cant get my hand between the tyre and the wheel arch on the left, though i can quite easily on the right hand side.

so what do people think? suspension gone? or something else, am gonna get it checked out hopefully over the weekend, i just wondered if any1 had any suggestions what it possibly could be??

car seems to drive ok btw...

Probably:

1 - damaged strut
2 - spring bounced out or rotated
3 - twisted chassis

most likely a damaged strut. Try bouncing the car about a bit and see if the rebound is different on one side.

Damaged strut will not effect how it sits - the spring is what holds it up. My bet is that if its sitting in its bumpstops (which it prob is) the bumpstop on the lowest side will have disintegrated. Try swapping L & R springs over. It WONT be a damper, unless youve smacked the back corner off of something.

It can be the damper. Because this is the exact problem i had on my car, its lowered 60mm on just springs and the left damper was knackered so it sat lower on that side, got a new set and now its even.....

Damper's have a certain amount of spring in them.

Yes they do have a little amount of spring in them but no where near enough to hold a car up. Damper dampens suspension, springs are what take the weight of the car/ effect its height & soak the bumps up. Dampers contol the speed of the compression/expansion of the spring. Honestly I aint kidding i've been tinkering with Corsa B's for 5 years.

I still say damaged strut or spring rotated. The other thing which I have encountered with a car is that the rear beam was not sat right but this was only made about 1cm of difference to the height.

Cheapo kits like G-Max are likely to break, slip springs, sag etc. If I were you I'd swap the sides over and see if it sits lower on the other side.

For the record, damaged/leeking dampers CAN affect the ride height, particularly if they are internally sprung.
