they have the speed sensors in them dont they?
my 1.616v gsi engine has the old gearbox with the oldspeed sensor (1.2 8v) and the car keeps trying to cut out and suceeds sometimes would i need a gsi gearbox to sort the problem or can i get any 1.6 16v gearbox?

there is no speed sensor on the gearbox at all, only the cable driven or electric speedo for the dash. if that isnt plugged in, either the cable or the leccy sensor, the car will still run fine. the only sensor on the g/box is a reverse light switch

random, ive ran without a speedo for ages in my n plate sri and also in ym gsi for a while and it never cut out for no reason, neither of em.
learn summit new everyday. i shall keep a watch on that.
