I have won a torque tube style inlet on flebay and was looking for a bit of advice on fitting it. is there any that i will need to buy to fit it? Its for a X16XE but i am going to fit it on my C16XE so i presume it might need fitting or parts off the X16 to make it fit? It is the whole inlet so it replaces the lower half of the manifold as well.

the £200 ish one? i think its something to do with the throttle body on the c16xe which you may need to tinker with, it replaces the upper half of the manifold btw

Nope it is one that replaces the whole inlet manifold. Top and bottom.

Dont see how this one would loose any torque when compared to the other inlets there are. Anyhow it shud be perfect for what i have planned. HMM T34 anyone.

Red posts that state they were £275 new and £400odd fitted?

Anyhow with the engine i am building torque and power will be very high.

There is no reason at all why you shud loose torque with this inlet compared to any other inlet.

you cant buy gaskets for it so youll have to make em. other than that its a case of whipping old one off, fix velos on, re-route vacuum piping. makes loads of difference to engine in terms of power etc but it makes engines inlet 'roar' really quiet.

got it from velosmotorsport.co.uk when thye were in business-deffo big money. but they did one for 275that was a replacment for top half of manifold. trust me that one bolts straight to the head and ur torque will disappear. bhp will be v good, but to me torque is most importnat.

well technically the torque figure won't actually drop it'll just be pushed further up the power band but yea, it'll feel less 'torquey'

dont get me wrong with other mods such as cams n chip n decent fueling they are worth it. but the 1.4 16v we ran with the above mods and a few more was 124bhp, and 87lb torque. lower than standard. plus u dont get real power till about 6k.

mantzel copies imo are better as they retain the lower half of the manifold which is where u retain ur torque due to the design of the tracts to the inlet side of the head,a lot of research went into the GM manifold and the lower half is what makes the xe engines torquey. with the velos tube fitted straight line flat road ur laughin cuz its good power, come to a hill and jcb's will fly past ya.
