The "mail" icon just popped up, i hovered over it wondering what it was, then found that IP address on it.

I dunno, that's the thing, i don't use any mail software other than hotmail, so hence the reason it's a bit worrying

Right click on the bar -> Task Manager
Any clues at all as to the name of it?
You run spyware scan recently?

was the left most when it popped up, when the tray was minimized, if that makes sense. Running Avast antivirus now anyway, just incase

Right, apparently it's Avast scanning my mail or something, which is annoying, and strange because i don't use any mail client, other than hotmail...
