hi, ive just started to polish up my rocker cover, some bit have come up well nice, but ive got black spots that the polish doesnt seem to remove. cant tell whether there sitting above the metal or below the surface. Anyone got any ideas?? Thought about sanding it down with some wet and dry and then polishing it again. Has anyone got any pics of there polished rocker covers?

just gave it ago with some wet and dry, ive only got 1200 grit though.made a major improvment but still going to take some time. How have you guys managed to get in to the fiddly bits? dont really want to take the rocker cover off, cos then i need to replace the gasket and the bolts etc
