Certain aftermarket units use this particular pin for something else for example a feed for a power amp as such when the radio is on it tries to in this instance power the amp but what it actually does is tell the car the radio is on. So the little car switchs the date off because it wants to tell you what you are listening too. Certain radios dont use this pin at all as such the car never gets a feed so thinks you dont turn the radio on and tell you the date. So.... you can get around this problem by not letting the car think the radio is switched on or to put it simply "snip the silver wire with the red tracer at the back of the headunit"!

Hope this helps!!

Here is a diagram of my ISO loom

Kenwood ISO Loom

Which wire should I cut?

i also have 3 loose wires connected to the radio end plug but loose from the ISO/Car eng plug. they are

Sky Blue wire which has label saying REMO.CONT and number SA 2168

Royal Blue and White wire which has label saying ANT.CONT, P.CONT and number SA 1553

Brown wire which has label saying Tel Mute and number SA 1569

What should be done with these wires?

thx

Will you stop posting this everywhere even though you've been told in multiple threads what to do.

How about you read the instruction manual for your head unit. It tells you what they do.

Connect up the sky blue to the remote input on an amplifier. If you haven't got an amp, then leave it.

Leave the blue and white cable unless you have an electric aerial (aerial which rises when the aerial is on).

The brown wire should be left unless you have you have an in-car telephone kit which mutes when the radio is on.
