Im having some trouble with fitting new handbrake cables to my corsa. Its a 97 r reg car with no abs.
I went to maccess and looked at the cable catalouge and purchased the shorter set. They didnt match my chassis number, but I assumed that the difference was abs as the shoes are wider.
I tried fitting them tonight and with the adjuster wound to its shortest it still has 5 clicks till its hard on. This means that its too mong sonewhere. I have compared the long cables and they are exactly the same. I binned the old short cable as it was broken.
Ive fitted these cables to my mums corsa in the past and they were fine, 3 clicks,, halfway along adjuster or less. what is the difference in the cars? Was there a different axle width on later cars, or a longer t bar on the handbrake lever, or a longer s hook joining the bar to the handle?
Any help greatly appreciated!

think Ive figured out the problem. I wound the adjusters fully back when I fitted new springs to the drums. Since I have no fluid in the system and havent been using the car, they will still be wound back and hence the shoe lever system will have tonnes of movement!
