Got lots of problems all happen randomly usually when i go over bumps or soemthing jolts my car...
the sub can cut out and i only get deep bass, my MFD will then also flicker like crazy and my indicators have started flicking really fast (dont know if thats related as i've just changed my lights)
Any idea's on what it can be, i think it's some sort of wire touching something it shouldnt as it is only every now and then when i hit bumps .etc

afaik, indicators flicking fast means fuse problem.
got a power cap or anything fun like that? maybe the sub is drawing too much power?

indicators usually flick fast if a bulb is gone.
sounds like an earth to me.
my mfd has started flickering on 1 side (have LEDs in it)... guess its look, but really don't want to take it apart to fix as i've sprayed my heater control panel metallic black/pearl green and it looks mint and don't want to damage it lol

it's being an absolute bitch
been out there now playing with it... the earth from the amp to somewhere appears to be fine, the headunit earth also appears to be fine it's direct to the negative terminal on the battery... should i maybe change this to somewhere else though???
the power lead on my sub was slight loose where it connects to the fuse under the bonnet but i've re-fixed it there, seems to still be a little loose the screw doesnt go all the way down, could this be a cause???
fixed my MFD by taking it apart .etc seems one had blown as a result of the sub being gay!!!
Really dont get it tho sometimes it'll randomly work sometimes it won't... wat other earths are there or connections that could cause this if they came loose?

the one from the sub to the car body is pretty good imo never had any problems before, it goes to where one of the rear seats attaches on the side and is held in by a torx bolt... i may just clean it all up or try a new one to be certain!
now my headunit earth is a little dodgy i think i'm going to have to get some new connections and re-do it, but again i've had no problems before until now when it goes on and off depending on whether i go over a bump or so on

Seems similar to my syptoms (sp) on my old corsa, i had a dodgy ignition barrel so everytime you went over a bump it would go off. Turned out that i plugged in my live wire and problem solved.
Just didnt turn off when you turned the ignition off.

Cheers Nick, so basically you plugged your headunit in to a constant live feed? is there any other work around or way of confirming this... surely it drains ure battery mate?
Cheers for the help

The headunit will stay on until u remove your face of the cd player (security), its the same in my current on corsa, i just press the button that releases the face of it which then turns off!!!
Power wise, i have a sub and amp running off it and it cuts it off automatically, just be careful washing your car for example and u listen to ya music it will drain the battery quicker as your engine is not running.

so i rewired the live feed today to a constant one straight off the battery and still no luck... this time u can see for yourself:
Movie 1 (5.22MB)
Movie 2 (2.07MB)
You'll need quicktime to view them Right Click and Save Target As... then download and then open
