right i've tought fuck it, i'm going to redo a corsa xe, fed up of gettin soaked walking to the bus stop, evan got run over the otherday, which wouldnt have happend if i had a car.
thing is, when my car was wrote off, the gearbox was kind of smashed up. so i'm going to be needing a new one, should i search for a F20 or F16? pro's and con's of each will be helpfull, and prices of each

Well the F20 is suited to the XE really, cant remember 1st gear speeds but 60mph in second, 3rd 90mph, 4th 123mph as for 5th im not sure!
f16 i think you prob won't see alot of difference on a standard engine compared with the f20.
I had the standard f20 on my xe and liked the ratio's but some people have ran f16's on them and prefered that set up.
As for prices 30 -60 notes?

the only reason i'm asking really, is becuase i need to get a new box so wondered which would be easier to find, cheaper, and better all round.
like the f20 on my xe, but i think i only ever did top end once, and i had no speedo  then other times, its really only on the motorway that it stretched her legs. so maybe loosing the top end speed for better acceleration is better? or maybe the revs will always be high and petrol is always running out

Stick with the f20, capable of 200lb of torque compared to the f16's 160 i think.
I doubt you'll see alot of difference.

its only going to be a standard xe, just need a cheap as hell corsa shell to throw the xe in, so i can get to and from work.

fad went from a f20 to a f16 and the diffrence was quite noticable iirc
