How on earth do you get the standard top gear cover off? I brought a new 1 and want to put it on and it wont come off!!! HELP Please

remove the gear leaver and put it in some hot water !

I blasted mine with the hairdryer for 10mins or so, then twisted and pulled untill it popped off.

Right i tried the pulling thing and i kinda ended up pulling just the leather/plastic surrounding off. there is some sort of spring i can see but i have tried everything 2 try and get it off!! PLEASE HELP ANY1 !!!

the spring is used to get up the gear lever ball surround to put in reverse !
