I have some high temperature paint in black and would like to paint the top of my 1.0 engine, just needed to know if i need nething on it like primer etc, them kinda things before i spray it, if its the right kind of paint, if it will act as a cover and make it hotter when its running and how many coats to give it max. Also the best thing to clean the engine with first? sand it down? and any advice? Thanks alot

If it is the high temperature black spray paint from halfords i wudn't bother with it as it is a pile of shoot. Anything else and you should be fine.

Hycote are pretty good yea. Just make sure you get all the scum, oil etc... of the parts you want to spray as the paint would not adhere to these if they were oily etc... Not sure if you'll need to prime but i wouldn't think so anyway.
