Hi Guys sorry if its a repost but i couldn't find anything on this...
Basically my Dad has his own small business picking up slavage / abandoned vehicles etc I went down there the other day and he has a 2.0 vectra down there. Started getting excited at this point as would have a free engine  I realised it was an auto  Is it possible to convert an automatic engine into manual transmission? if so would it be worth the hassle and what would i need?
Sorry for the essay, any help appreciated

if its in a vectra its an X20XE or X20XEV, just get rid of the auto box and put in an F20 or F16 manual box. You can get a good bit of money for a low millage auto box on eBay.

nice one mate cheers for the post going to try and hassle him to get it out once ive checked the mileage before he takes it to the scrappy!
Is there much of a difference between the X20XE / X20XEV and C20XE performance and reliability wise?

X20XE is 136bhp and C20XE is 145bhp. Some say the X20XE is smoother in a corsa but i've never been in one. Both are fairly reliable, the X20XE is probably going to be of a lower millage than you would pick up a red top at.

20XE/C20XE is 150bhp/156bhp respectively.

what the hell??.....if u use an auto engine your input/spiggot shaft will be half the length you need..you will need a complet crankshaft!! tbh mate its not worth the time or money
basically,, flog the engine/box uve got on e-gay and buy a cheep cavvy c20xe for £50 or so..

cheers for the post mate, makes sense. Dont know if dad can be bothered to rip it out if im not going to use it so whole car is probably going to scrappy! starting my hunt for a C20XE now though
